Health Care
While I agree that we all need healthcare of some type or another, Government-run health care is not the way we need to go. I recall a simpler time when the Health Departments actually provided heath care, and hospitals contained clinics which helped to keep the emergency visits and misuses in check; there is a resurgence of some facilities that are similarly structured. Every injury did not result in a costly and often frivolous lawsuit. I would like to offer, very briefly, some simple ideas for consideration that would help with health care.
We only have a few insurance companies in Maryland. We need to open up competition to allow other insurances in and allow purchasing polices across state lines. Further, I believe that we should also cut back on the mandates and stop expanding Medicaid. We have to find other ways to help the uninsured and under insured citizens without creating a greater dependence on government. I also believe it would be most helpful to make insurance portable, this way every time you move out of state or change jobs, you do not have to switch insurance.
